"East Coast"
Prices for most things vary based on perception in different locations. To me, oysters are the most overpriced food in Western culture. In Korea, you can get 100 oysters for about $10, and I grew up eating them for free because many restaurants give them away as a complimentary dish when they’re in season. Oysters are used in other dishes much like shrimp in Western cuisine. It was only when I came to Canada that I learned people pay $3-6 per oyster. I still pay that much because I love them, but it hurts a little knowing I could have them for free back in Korea.
